Lever House Has Talent 2013!

Another wonderful day here at Lever House!
Today we held the semi-finals and the finals of Lever House Has Talent 2013 and it truly was excellent.

Many thanks to all the children who auditioned in the class rounds; the standard was as superb as ever.

In the semi-finals, we all thoroughly enjoyed being entertained by comedians, magicians, singers, dancers and even hoola hoopists.

Congratulations to the ‘Chickadettes’ and the ‘Joker Brothers’ for making it through to the finals, but a special mention must go to Eric, our winner for this year, with his amazing dancing.

Dear Olivia,

The other day in our playground something happened. A balloon flew into the playground.First Luke caught the balloon but the wind was so strong that it blew the balloon out of his hands! Then Kenzie caught the balloon. When he was reading your message it ripped. He read it just in time. I’m sorry to tell you that we don’t know where it flew to. Maybe it was Blackpool!

Kind Regards

Alexander

Official Opening of the Lever House Theatre

On Thursday 25th April, our outdoor theatre on the Key Stage 2 playground was officially opened with the help of our Town Crier, poet Paul Cookson and children from Year 5.

We are looking forward to exciting performances in the future.

Thanks must go to the Friends of Lever House for providing this wonderful stage.

If you missed the grand opening, take a look at the first performance:

An Amazing Event

Yesterday something rather exciting happened in our playground. It was a day where the wind was whooshing around us. Suddenly a blue ballon landed on our yard. Luke managed to grab it but it blew out of his hand. Luckily Kenzie spotted what had happened and caught the balloon but as he read the message the balloon flew away again! We could not believe it. The message revealed that another school in Leyland has released the balloons to see how far they would travel. Today we are writing to the owner of the balloon to let her know that her balloon landed here, but carried on traveling. I wonder where it is now. We will publish some of our letters on the blog.

Indian Printing

Today we were very lucky to have Mrs Murray to do some printing with us. Firstly we have to design our pattern. We then had to draw it onto some polystyrene and cut it out. Next we had to roll out some paint and dip our print into it. Then with a clean roller, we had to roll it onto the material. Finally we got to decorate them with sequins.

They look brilliant.

Thank you to everyone that helped!!!!!
